April 8th at 10:30am - Town of Hempstead Public Hearing

We are expecting some big announcement to be made at the next TOH Public Hearing.  LILHPEDA will have members on hand to show their support.  The last meeting took a mere 50 minutes, before we had our opportunity to address the Board.  Most of the stuff that went up was pretty much rubber-stamped and moved along. They haven't released the hearing calendar for April 8th. They'll be opening that up on Friday. Once that's posted on Friday, we'll try to give you a better educated guess.  We're figuring an hour and a half or so should be plenty. If you tell your boss you'll be back at work by noon or 1:00pm, you should make it, with time to spare. That's tentative.

Be sure to pick up your orange ribbon before going into the hearing.  There should be plenty of them available, since we're stopping at the store to pick up a few yards of ribbons before the weekend. The days before will be spent folding and pinning ribbons! hahaha!! This is exciting stuff. =)

How to get their? It's at #1 Washington Street, Hempstead, 11550.  Coming from Suffolk, you go towards the Coliseum, right down Hempstead Tpke, passed the Coliseum, passed Hofstra.  There will be a spot where the road forks, maybe not even a mile down the road.  The fork is to the left, before, I think, a large Holiday Inn building. that's Penninsula Blvd.  You hop on that, and it'll take you right to the Town Hall on Washington Street (it'll be on the Right-hand side).  Go past the Town Hall and there's a large parking lot behind it.  Free parking.  No parking meters, it's a real parking lot.  Park there and head towards the Town Hall.  The Nathan LH Bennett Pavillion is a building in the middle of a little outdoor plaza, before you get to the main building.  The Town Board Meetings are held inside the Pavillion.  You'll see a sort of obelisk to Ronald Reagan outside the Pavillion.  You cant miss it.
